LFP supports ATRIEV
In 2007, atriev, the only school for the blind in the Philippines that specializes in information and communications technology, qualified as one of Liliane’s growing partners.
To Date, there are over 80 ATRIEV students who are direct beneficiaries from Liliane Foundation’s support. Aside from assistance for the students’ tuition fee, transportation and meal subsidy and assistive devices, Liliane Foundation’s support expanded up to students’ monthly dormitory fee, school miscellaneous fee, medical assistance, and their reader/guide honorarium.
Just this previously concluded school year 2008-2009, one of ATRIEV’s scholars and also a Liliane Foundation direct beneficiary, Jessie Gervacio, recently graduated from an Internet Technology course in AMA Computer Learning Center in Paco, one of the leading computer schools in the Philippines. Jessie was one of ATRIEV’s outstanding students who completed ATRIEV’s Access Technology in Popular Applications for Low Vision course in 2007. He then went on to qualify for a scholarship in AMA Computer Learning Center thus becoming a pioneering integrated visually impaired student in the said school. His tuition fee was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Paco while his transportation cost and other miscellaneous expenses were sponsored by Liliane Foundation Philippines. Jessie has also served as a volunteer trainor of ATRIEV’s summer class for visually impaired children as part of sharing the benefits he earned with his fellow blind students. Jessie is set to participate in a three-day personality awareness and leadership seminar sponsored by PowerSpeak, a leading personality development institution, to prepare him for the challenges of employment.
Truly the partnership between ATRIEV, Liliane Foundation Philippines and other sympathetic institutions have turned the small hopes of visually impaired people to big dreams.

Great day. I have a nephew who is a hearing impaired (both ears). He used to have a normal life until the age of three when his both ears suffers from recurrent infection. He is now 7 years old and is studying in Philippine School for the Deaf. He have a very irresponsible father, his mother acts as a single mother and he has other 3 siblings. He was the eldest. His parent cannot support his study considering that his mom is jobless and they are just accepting support from his mother’s father who is 63 years old now. I am just wondering if you can help him pursue his study? Are there any way he can get a scholarship considering that he is also a bright and dedicated student? Please let me know of the requirements needed to avail any sponsorships. I can also attach his pictures and medical certificates if necessary. Thank you so much.

The peace of the Lord be with you!
I have heard about your compassionate foundation that helps children with disabilities through the Louise de Marillac Foundation Incorporated – Community Extension Services of the Saint Louise de Marillac College of Sorsogon, one of your partner foundation in the Philippines. Being a student in SLMCS had embedded me the values of compassionate service to the needy and sick. I am now in Sta Rosa City, Laguna working in a private company. During my journey here, gave me the chance to meet a child with a cleft lip and pallet. It pinched my heart and made the values I had learned rouse. Seeing a child in this situation pushes me to do something for him. I have talked to the mother about the child and about the things she is doing to address the condition of the kid. “Being in a poor family doesn’t give us the chance to treat him even if we want to; we just pray to the Lord that he may live a normal life despite of his condition. We don’t know what to do anymore, who to ask for help. We have tried our best to go to different foundations, Government officials / agencies and others, but we did not receive any help. Maybe this is the fate of our child.” Said the Mom. I can see in her eyes the vanished hope for her child. It made me remember your foundation that gives dignity and justice to children in this kind of situation. The child is very young and helpless to fight for his right. I would like to ask for an appeal to your foundation to help the child. Your help would mean so much to the family of this kid. Being the eldest, he could be the answer in addressing the problems of the family especially the issue of poverty. With just giving him the rights to live normal and the right to education he may be the key to the alleviation of his family’s situation.
My anticipated gratitude of your favorable response. You may contact me in #09057771355
God bless us all!

good afternoon.
i am hoping that you can read this, hoping that my friend’s child will be given attention in your foundation. i have a friend, charisse kho who has a daughter, katrien kho who is a hearing impaired child since birth. since we want katrien to hear before she go to a formal schooling..even before any mother would want her child to hear. her mom learned about the cochlear implant that would make katrien hear for both ears. have asked and the operation would cost 1.7 million as what med el (the one who will provide the device). Her mom is doing the best that she can to accumulate at least half of the price to proceed with the operation. doing fundraising, benefit concert, and tried at pcso with the help of her friends seems not quite enough that’s why i am looking for a foundation who can consider this and can help for the operation to proceed. she is a single mom, katrien’s biological dad is an irresponsible one. she is the only one taking care of her daughter and her family as well. unfortunately, those of her relatives na “may kaya” is not willing to help. that’s why i am appealing for help for katrien. it would be much easier and life would be better for her as she grows up hearing everything in this world. i know this is not a small amt to ask, but pls. reconsider and help us how to raise at least half of it so that the doctor can proceed with the operation. i am leaving my number and charisse’s number too and will hope that you can at least read and consider her case. thank you so much for your time.
